Essie Nails

As someone who loves her nails painted, I very rarely find time or (spend money) to go to a nail salon to get my nails done. For me it is so much easier to buy the nail polish and paint them myself, I have done this for years. Of course I would love to get my nails done at the salon every few weeks but they never seem to last as long as I would like, especially gel nails, these last me 2 days max!

I am lucky to have very healthy and quick growing nails so I don’t mind giving myself a little manicure every week and my collection of nail polish is one I am proud of. So I thought I would share some of my favourite go to spring colours by one of my favourite nail varnish brands.

Essie nail polishes have to be one of the best on the market, the quality and variety of colours are always brilliant and I always seem to walk away from the Essie shelves in my local Boots with least one new colour every time.

In this post I wanted to share my go-to Spring time colours that are great for any occasion and any outfit.

The Essie nail varnish colours I want to share are :

Essie Nail Review

LIMO-SCENE & SAND TROPEZ

(Left to Right) These are the two most neutral and natural Essie Nail Lacquer in my collection. They are great for all year round and any outfit. The reason they are in my Spring collection is because the colours are so light and fresh, just like those Spring days. They compliment those floral dresses as well as the jeans and t-shirt looks. I like the way you can build the colour of each of these nail varnishes as they are quite sheer usually applying 3 coats. I always make sure that each coat is completely dry before applying another and the results are beautiful. They usually last up to a week on my nails and that is usually because my nails grow so quick and they don’t chip that much.

Natural Nails

NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE & SUGAR DADDY

(Left to right) Not Just A Pretty Face is a peachy natural colour and probably one of my favourite Essie nail colours. I only every need two coats to achieve the colour I need. It is a beautiful everyday colour and great for holidays too. It always reminds me of the sunshine as I always seems to wear this colour on memorable days when I’ve been out in the sunshine or celebrating an occasion. Sugar Daddy is another natural shade that has a subtle hint of pink and gorgeous for a nude and natural “no nail varnish” look. This is one I would always wear to work and everyone would ask what nail varnish it was. A couple of coats, again, achieves such a great coverage and is perfect for any Spring time look.

LOVIE DOVIE

(The only pink one) This ‘Barbie’ pink is my favourite pink shade. It is so bright and vibrant like a flamingo. This colour has so much energy and really makes your nails pop. It is always my go to for my toe nails, especially for flip flop weather. Two coats and the colour is immense and long lasting. This is also another Essie nail colour that is also in my holiday collection (ooh a post for another day!)

Have you tried Essie nail polishes before? What are your favourite spring time colours?

  1. I find Essie really hit and miss. I love their colour range but I find all of the pastels need 3 shades to have any colour pay off and they’re really streaky! That being said their darks are my absolute favourites!

Yes the lighter shades need a good few coats although I’ve been lucky I haven’t had any bad experience with streaky colours. The darker shades are great aren’t they?! xo
