Image Skincare Clear Cell Collection | Review

Image Skincare has become one of the skincare brands that has a firm residence in my skincare routine. Previously you may have seen I have reviewed a few of their products, including my favourite mask Vital C Enzyme Mask. In February, Alice from Babuska PR kindly invited me along to the Professional Beauty Event in London, where I finally got to meet the lovely Alice herself. I wrote about the event which you can read here if you are interested in beauty events. At the event we got chatting about some products and after telling her a little more about my skin and the problems I have had with acne scars and being prone to blemishes, she recommended some more Image Skincare products which she kindly sent over to me.

MY STRUGGLE WITH ACNE SCARRING

Over the years I have tried a number of different brands and products to help with my scars from acne and blemishes. As I have got older, they have improved dramatically but the problem I still have is that any blemishes or acne spots that can appear, even if it is an isolated episode of bad skin, whether it’s the time of the month or I’m having a stressful week. These spots, even when left alone, scar. My skin is left with dark marks, a lot like an age spot and as I have olive skin, my skin tone looks very uneven and it can affect my confidence when baring my back and arms.

Over the years I have been in a good and consistent routine with exfoliation, dry brushing and using specific creams to help improve the appearance of my skin. So when I received these products I had some high hopes and was really looking forward to trying more products by Image Skincare.

As I am happy with my current skincare routine, I chose to use these products as and when needed, more of a treatment product than a daily product. Before I go on to tell you more about how I used these products and whether or not I saw results, let me tell you more about these two Image Skincare products.

IMAGE SKINCARE CLEAR CELL CLARIFYING PADS

Image Skincare are known for their ground breaking mix of botanical and clinical skincare products. The Image Skincare Clear Cell Collection has been specially formulated for acne and oily skin and has a range of products on offer. The Clear Cell Clarifying Pads are deep cleansing pads in a convenient pot, with the ingredients including salicylic and glycolic acids. These pads help to exfoliate the skin, wiping away dirt and dead skin that can build up and cause acne.

I first started using these pads at the gym. I find that after a sweaty workout, my skin would feel very clogged and because my gym sessions are always followed by the steam room and sauna and a swim, I would be subjecting my skin to an even heavier build up of clogged pores, from sweat to more sweat to the chlorine in the swimming pool. I was finding that my skin would occasionally flare up and from there lead to scarring on my skin.

I use this product on my face, neck, top of my back and chest. I have only recently started using it on my legs and I’m finding it helps with preventing ingrown hairs and the irritation I get from them. With a blend of anti-oxidants and calming ingredients these pads help to reduce any inflammation on my skin. This handy pot has worked wonders on keeping my skin clean and calm after a gym session and I love how these little pads have easily fitted into my gym routine.

IMAGE SKINCARE CLEAR CELL CLARIFYING LOTION

The Image Skincare Clear Cell Clarifying Lotion is a light weight cream lotion that I have been using along side the Clarifying Pads. This oil-free lotion helps to control the over production of oil/sebum in the skin that causes acne and with it’s anti-oxidants ingredient, it helps to keep the face and affected area hydrated and works to repair and reduce the inflammation of the skin. This product also works as a natural skin lightener and reduces redness of irritated skin.

Using this product after the gym and on days when my skin is a lot oilier than normal, especially on those warmer days, I have found my skin is more matte and far less greasy than usual. I use the product on my face, top of my back and arms and have found that my skin looks more even and the dark scarring has dramatically decreased.

WOULD I CONTINUE USING THESE PRODUCTS?

I am so impressed with these products that I will continue to use them to enhance the results I am already seeing. As I mentioned before, I am now using these products on my legs because of in-grown hairs and scarring that I have developed from these, so I am hoping for the same results.

When using these products Image Skincare do suggest you use a sunscreen with high UVA/UVB SPF before you go outside to protect the skin after applying theses products to affect areas.

I would highly recommend these products to anyone that is suffering from acne and acne scaring or to any teenagers that is currently suffering with acne and oily skin.
