My Top 6 Beauty Products of 2019

Skincare Favourites

And just like that another year has come and gone! This year I changed up my skincare routine in a big way! In June I turned 30, which gave me the kick I needed to start including more anti-ageing products like retinol and skincare acids. I actually wrote a post sharing the beginning of my journey with skincare acids and I shared some of my tips for beginners, which you can read here.

This year I’ve been blogging and sharing more beauty reviews and advice both on here and on my beauty Instagram page, so what better way for me to dedicate my last post of the year with a beauty blog post here on Beauty Baking Bella. I thought long and hard about what products I have used this year and which I should include in a top 5 beauty products post. Well you may have already seen from the title of this post that this was a difficult decision to make so I only managed to narrow the list down to 6! My little skincare collection is full of amazing brands and brilliant products that are my ride and dies but the following products just have that little extra love in my heart (or in my skin!)

Pinterest Skincare Favourites

Keep reading to see if any of your favourites made the cut or to see if you discover a new product to try in 2020.

ALPHA H LIQUID GOLD

At the beginning of 2019 I discovered Cult Beauty. As someone who worked for a premium beauty brand in stores like Boots and House of Fraser, I have always been well used to buying my beauty products in store, so when I started shopping online it was an entirely new shopping experience. Cult Beauty was like beauty heaven for me, I spent some time researching and searching for brands that were recommended for my skin type and skin concerns. And the first product I discovered was Alpha H Liquid Gold, with Glycolic Acid, a miracle facial toner that helps with revitalising the skin, firming, reducing large pores as well as reducing acne and scarring. The Alpha H Liquid Gold saved my skin and I honestly couldn’t live without it; it’s evened my skin tone,( reducing acne scars and even my freckles! I’m currently on my 4th bottle!

SUMMER FRIDAYS OVERTIME

You can’t miss Summer Friday products on Instagram, the sleek and instagram inspiring packaging is unmissable if you follow beauty bloggers and influencers. However, this natural and vegan friendly skincare brand is much more than aesthetically pleasing products. I first tried the Summer Friday Jet Lag Mask in the travel size which I bought just before my holiday back in October and fell in love with how amazing it was. When I returned home I ordered the Overtime Mask as I read some great reviews on how it was amazing for clearing clogged pores and helped to clear and brighten skin. I tell you what..it bloody works! The autumnal smell and ingredients (pumpkin and nutmeg) in this super food skincare mask work on the skin as an exfoliator and then left on as a mask. I use this mask once a week and it always leaves my skin looking and feeling so clean and soft.

DERMALOGICA MULTI-ACTIVE TONER

This year one of my blogging highlights was being chosen to become a Skinfluencer for Dermalogica UK. Many years ago when I suffered from teenage skin and acne, Dermalogica was my go to brand and years later I have been fortunate to have them on my vanity once again thanks to the lovely ladies at Dermalogica HQ. I have been fortunate enough to have tried some amazing Dermalogoca products this year and many of the products only just missed out on making this top 6! This Multi-Active Toner however stands out from the rest. It is the most hydrating and drenching spray toner I have ever used! I love how hydrated and plump my skin looks when using this toner. It honestly is such a quick and easy part of my routine. Read more about it here and more about other Dermalogica products in my routine.

Skincare Toners

PIXI SKIN TREATS VITAMIN C TONER

As I’m writing this, I’m noticing a theme; I do love a toner don’t I?! I seem to love having a toner in my routine and this one was always going to make the cut! At the beginning of the year I was reading up on the latest skincare trend Vitamin C in skincare and after some more in-depth research I decided to buy the PIXI Beauty Skin Treats Vitamin C toner and the rest is history. With continued use my skin looked more even, brighter and so much healthier to the look and feel. PIXI then kindly sent me the whole range to try and I haven’t looked back since. This whole range has become a staple in my skincare collection and you can read why in my full PIXI Vitamin C range review.

FRANK BODY ORIGINAL COFFEE SCRUB

My skin struggles to heal quickly and is prone to easy scarring, whether it is from a graze or blemishes, so my body is full of these sorts of scars! Over the years I’ve learnt to just keep my body cleansed and moisturised as well as exfoliating up to 3 times a week. Up until I tried this Frank Body Coffee Scrub, I wasn’t noticing much improvement in both the texture of my skin but also the uneven marks and scarring. After nearly a year of using the Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub, I can proudly say my skin has never looked better! At least 50% of my scarring has disappeared including nearly all my stretch marks on my thighs and bottom. I recently went a couple of weeks between repurchasing and honestly my skin missed this product so much!! This body coffee scrub is one I must always have in my shower collection. 2020 will be the year I try Frank Body’s other body scrubs so keep your eyes peeled on my Instagram to see how I like them.

PAULA’S CHOICE CLEAR PORE NORMALISING CLEANSER

Last but not least, my first Paula’s Choice skincare product, the Pore Normalising Cleanser. A few months ago I purchased the travel size in this cleanser to trial and immediately saw results! The little bumps and congested pores I was battling on my jawline and chin disappeared and the texture and surface of my skin was smooth and soft. Once my trial size finished and I stopped using this cleanser and my skin started to go backwards so I repurchased but this time the full size and it is now the cleanser I reach for a few times a week to keep my skin blemish free! This cleanser has Salyclic Acid to keep skin clear and reduce inflammation of blemishes as well as completely dissolving away all dirt, SPF/suncreen and makeup. It’s great as a part of a double cleanse routine too. If like me you suffer from blemishes and problem skin definitely give this cleanser a go!

Top 6 Beauty products 2019

So there it is, my top 6 beauty products of 2019. I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had as a beauty blogger this year, I have tried some amazing products and I’m so honoured to work with so many amazing beauty brands. I’m so excited for what’s to come in 2020 and where my next year of blogging is going to take me. Make sure you are following me over on Instagram and Twitter as well as my blog to keep up to date with my latest posts and what I have coming in 2020!

I want to take this opportunity as my last post of 2019 to wish all my readers a very happy and prosperous New Year!
