Last month when I packed up our 3-bedroom house to move in with my in-laws, we thought the interim period would only be a month or so. The universe had other plans! We are now left in limbo for what will now be a much longer than planned. I packed up my beauty stock only keeping out what I thought would be enough to get me through this time. These said boxes are currently buried deep in storage, so thankfully Cult Beauty has currently got a sale on and I received a discount code so I was able to treat myself to some essential skincare to fill the void I currently have in my routine. This has resulted in me placing an order and a (mini) Cult Beauty haul that I am sharing on the blog today.
The products I have purchased include the following:
This mini haul actually only includes one product as a repurchase. Two of the products are new products I have had on my wish list and have wanted to try for such a long time now. Two of the products are free gifts, in sample form, which I chose from a variety of samples on offer as I spent more than £50 on my order. I love that Cult Beauty off sample sizes as a free gift as this has always been a great way to try new products before purchasing them in their full size. There is nothing worse than spending a large amount of money on a product that you have never tried that turns out not be worth the hype!
This is my third bottle of the cult favourite by Paula’s Choice. If you suffer from breakouts, clogged pores and uneven skin, this liquid exfoliant is formulated with BHA, an exfoliant that is lipid-soluble which easily penetrates deep into the layers of the epidermis, targeting the pores, breaking down and gently remove dead skin cells, bacteria and oil build-up without stripping the skin of its natural oils. This type of BHA loosens the above to gently and effectively remove all the gunk to leave you with clear, smooth and radiant skin. When I don’t have this in my weekly skincare routine my skin and pores go straight back to feeling and looking congested and it really makes my skin look unhealthy and not feeling its best.
I am a huge fan of Elemis and adore their body products and facial toners. This is my first time I’m trying their best-selling cleansing balm. I have a few favourite cleansing balms like Versed or Emma Hardie, which I love but as a beauty junkie I couldn’t ignore the hype that is constantly surrounding this product. A balmy texture that melts away makeup, dirt and excess oil when applied, then becomes an oil-like consistency that washes off as a hydrating cleansing milk, leaving the skin smooth and soft. It also states that it can be used and left on as a face mask treatment. The formula includes rose and mimosa wax, elderberry, starflower and omega oils which actually gives you spa-like feels with its gorgeous scent (all Elemis products have a spa like feel and I’m here for it!) So here I am, my first beautiful jar or Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. Stay tuned to see how I get on with this cleansing classic.
I switched from an aerosol deodorant to a stick deodorant over a year ago as I kept getting blocked hair follicles and lumps under my arms that were not only uncomfortable but worrying. Making the switch prevented this from happening but then I noticed the same occurred from the usual brands I was using. So, I have decided to invest a little more money into a natural deodorant stick and after some research and some personal recommendations the Caudalie Vinofresh stick came straight off my wish list and into my basket. I’m really hoping for some good results from this product, firstly to stop me from smelling but also to be gentle on my under arms. I will report back on how I get on with this one too. I am a huge fan of the Vinopure range by Caudalie and have wanted to try more from this brand for a while because of its approach to natural skincare. Also, this deodorant is silicone free, aluminium free and alcohol free, so it’s scoring points in my books already. It also is scented with eucalyptus which is one of my favourite scents so I have big hopes for this.
As freebie go, a mini mascara is always a good choice. They’re always a great size, perfect for trialling, travelling and just having in your makeup bag. I don’t wear a lot of makeup so they last a long time, but mascara is one of the products that doesn’t last as long because it dries out and become unusable. I have wanted to try the caviar mascara from LM for a while as I love a volumizing mascara. I have loved every makeup product I’ve tried by Laura Mercier; I can’t wait to try this.
Glow Recipe is a brand I’m still relatively new to and I am a fan of the Watermelon range, which is very hydrating. I’m looking forward to trying this serum as I have yet to try avocado as a skincare product, which is very interesting. I am a huge lover of Korean skincare and always find the products are beautiful to use and the results are always visible. This sample is a nice sample size for me to really try the product before I decide to purchase or not. Who else loves a skincare sample?
This will be my last beauty purchases of this year. Have you tried any of these products before? What has been in your recent beauty haul?
Until next time,
