Bakerdays Letterbox Gift Cake Review

Bakerdays Letterbox Gift Cake Review

I recently celebrated my 29th birthday and Bakerdays kindly sent me a personalised letterbox gift cake to review. I love birthday cake! I love being surprised with one, I love baking and decorating them and generally love cake, I mean who doesn’t, right?!

Bakerdays Letterbox Gift Cake
MY LETTERBOX GIFT CAKE

My chosen letter box gift cake was a gluten wheat free traditional sponge cake with jam and buttercream and I chose the birthday wishes wreath cake design from a large selection of beautiful and colourful prints available to choose from on the Bakerdays website.

A letter box gift cake is a 5 inch round cake (3-4 portions) which is a perfect size for one or even for two to share. I requested my gift cake to be delivered for my birthday on the 4th of June and it arrived a couple of days before. The cake arrived in a round tin inside a cardboard box which was the perfect size to fit through my front door letterbox.

The cake itself was very pretty and it really did bring a smile to my face as I opened it alongside my birthday presents the morning of my birthday. With no guilt what so ever, I enjoyed some of this birthday cake for breakfast!! The only teeny-tiny negative thing about this cake is that the circluar wreath print wasn’t centred on the cake which made the cake look a little lopsided.

Bakerdays Gluten Free Letterbox Cake

BAKERDAYS CAKE LOVE

The cake tasted amazing and even as a gluten wheat free cake, it tasted exactly like a normal sponge which was nice, as previously when I have purchased or tried gluten free sponges they tend to be quite dry and powdery, this one was delicious! The right amount of buttercream and jam made this cake the perfect amount of sweet and was very enjoyable.

Overall, I really liked this product and I will be using this gift idea for birthdays, celebrations or thank you gifts in the future.
