Aloe Vera Skincare with Forever Living UK

Aloe Vera; there is a good chance that you have at some point used aloe vera, either consumed internally or used topically. Aloe vera has many health benefits from consuming aloe for healthy digestion and helping bowel movement to using aloe vera on the skin to help with reducing inflammation like cuts and acne as well as using aloe vera as a topical treatment for skin conditions like psoriasis.

When The Aloe Vera Company Forever Living UK sent me some of their best-selling products to try and review I was very excited! For years I have using aloe vera gel on my skin to help clear acne and blemishes as well as using it regularly to help reduce scarring on my skin. Anytime my skin flares up I always reach for aloe vera to help reduce irritation, redness as it helps to quickly heal and improve the texture and normality of my skin.

The three products from Forever Living UK that I want to talk about are the Aloe Vera Gelly, Protecting Day Lotion SPF 20 and Aloe Sunscreen SPF 30. I have used these three products over the past month and they have seamlessly been incorporated into my daily skincare routine.

ALOE VERA GELLY

Firstly, lets talk about the Aloe Vera Gelly. This 100% stabilised aloe vera gel can be applied as regularly as you like to the skin for any reason, for cuts, grazes, blemishes and any skin sensitivities or conditions. This thick but not sticky gel helps to soothe and calm irritated skin in a gentle and healing way. I love to apply a small amount onto specific parts of my skin after a shower or bath when my skin is clean. I’ve been using it on my back and arms to reduce those small blemishes and bumps I occasionally get, which reduces the chance of scarring as my skin doesn’t heal well naturally. It’s also been a fantastic product in my evening facial skincare routine. A few nights a week, before I go to bed, I apply a thin layer of this Aloe Vera gel on top my face and leave it on over night which helps reduces blemishes/spots while I’m sleeping. When I wake in the morning I use my normal facial wash to refresh my skin before continuing with my normal skincare routine. Aloe vera is also a great product to apply as an aftersun to calm, cool and rehydrate the skin.

PROTECTING DAY LOTION SPF 20

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I always mention how important it is to wear an SPF daily, whether it is a sunny summers day or a grey winters morning, using an SPF will help protect your skin from UV rays during anytime of weather and I personally use an SPF on my face everyday of the year. This Protecting Day Lotion with a Broad Spectrum SPF 20 is a light and easy to use silky cream that provides moderate protection, which is ideal for daily use. This lotion is such a light-weight texture that it is easy to reapply throughout the day to keep that protection topped up. I have been loving using this product in my morning skincare routine, after my usual cleansing routine, I spray my face with a hydrating toner, apply my eye gel and face serum then finish with this protecting day lotion. It absorbs well leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth. As someone with freckly skin, I’m always conscious that my skin needs high protection and usually I use an SPF 50 but as I don’t like to lay in the sun and always where a hat to cover my face when I’m out and about, using this SPF 20, I was confident that my freckles wouldn’t increase or darken and they didn’t. I would definitely recommend this for any skin type even someone with freckles or paler skin.

FOREVER LIVING ALOE SUNSCREEN SPF 30

Finding the right body sun cream has always been an issue for me. I have a light olive skin that easily becomes sensitive to the sun, thankfully I don’t burn easy but I am prone to developing freckles on my body from sun exposure. I naturally have a slightly oilier skin on my body as well as my face, so the sun cream has to have the right balance of a moisturising and hydrating elements that absorb into my skin without breaking out and clogging my skin. The Aloe Sunscreen of UVA and UVB protection with a broad spectrum of an SPF 30 is a water-resistant formula with soothing inner aloe leaf to gently protect the skin from loss of moisture throughout the day. As much as I wanted to love this product because of the amazing qualities and protection it provides, the texture was too thick for my skin. I found it difficult to rub the protect into my skin, especially as I do have slightly hairy arms. It also left white marks on my skin especially when my skin would sweat. The postive however is that my skin was protected for long periods of time while out and about and my skin didn’t become sensitive to the sun or develop any new freckles. It also kept my skin hydrated and extremely soft which I loved but I couldn’t get past the creamier texture that I am not used to for my oilier skin. I think this formula is better for someone who has a drier skin and needs more hydration and protection in the sun and for someone who does water sports and needs that extra water-resistant protection.

Overall, I loved using these products. Aloe is such a great and natural ingredient that I have and will always use on my face and body. This brand incorporates aloe into their products to give you those amazing benefits and in every day and easy to use skincare and body products. I will continue to use the Protecting Lotion and Aloe Vera Gelly as I have enjoyed incorporating them into my daily routine.
