Our Weekend Away | Aladdin & Dinner

August 24, 2017

Outside the Prince Edward Theatre, London

This post is a few weeks late but hey ho! It’s been a very busy few weeks in our house and to be honest I will be glad to say goodbye to August. Any way! A few weeks ago my husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and if you checked out my post a few posts back you will see where we stayed Our Weekend Away.

DRINKS & THEATRE

As we were child free for the night we went all out and went to the theatre in London. We went to see the Westend Musical of Disney’s Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre. Wow! it was spectacular, I loved every moment and every character and Jade Ewen was beautiful as Jasmine. We had amazing seats in the Dress Circle and had a great view of the whole theatre. If you are a fan of Disney and Aladdin then you have to book to see this at the Westend, such an amazing show from the whole cast and a memorable show I won’t forget. The magic carpet scenes were brilliant!

DINNER & MORE DRINKS

After the show and two boxes of popcorn, a bag of minstrels and some alcoholic beverages we decided to walk up to Shaftesbury Avenue to find somewhere to eat. I forgot that London doesn’t sleep and even at 11pm the hustle and bustle of London town was beautiful to see, I miss spending in the beautiful city!

We spotted a Turkish Restaurant called Babaji, which we heard was known for it’s delicious Meze and Pides (Turkish Flatebread with toppings) so we decided to sit in and have a late dinner.

I ordered a Pide with minces lamb with tomatoes, peppers and onions with a side of Cacik (cucumber, garlic and mint yoghurt) to share. It was so delicious and perfectly cooked. Turkish Pide/Lamachun are one of my favourite Turkish foods. Check out my own recipe for the world famous Turkish Pide/Pizza here.

We had such a lovely evening and it was so nice to spend tome together as a couple celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary.

How have you celebrated your anniversaries with your partner? What and where are the ‘child free’ date nights that you both enjoy?
