It has been a while since I have reviewed a Birchbox UK beauty box. I have been a Birchbox subscriber for about 18 months and I honestly love receiving these beauty samples every month. I don’t spend as much money on myself and beauty products as much as I used so it is so nice to receive something different every month as a treat to myself.
November is nearly over and we are going into the last month of the year so new beauty products are great for this party/social time of year! This month’s box was full of great products that I have really needed as a pick me up after such a stressful month moving house and preparing for the busiest time of the year!
This month Birchbox UK teamed up with Vogue to create this fabulous looking box. So here it is, what I got in the November Birchbox.
This beauty product for the face is a completely new product and a type of self tan I have never tried before. This mask is a two in one product, it helps to soothe and moisturise the skin as well as developing a natural and healthy looking tan. This product is to be applied at night to a freshly cleansed face. I applied about a 10 pence piece amount onto my palms and carefully applied onto my skin being mindful around the hairline and jawline to give an even application. At first I noticed that my skin had more of a glow than a tan but I think if you was to use this product a few times a week you would notice more of a tan on medium to darker skin. Overall, a nice lightweight product which is a nice little extra to your skincare routine this winter to give you that gentle summer glow during the winter months.
I have always used my hands as my brush cleaner, so when I received this brush cleaner in this month’s box I was very excited to try it! So normally I would fill my basin with warm water and add my brush cleaner liquid and use the inside of my hands and fingers as my brush cleaner. This time when I used this brush cleaner I was so amazed how easy it was to use making it so quick and easy to clean my makeup brushes and at a price of £5 (what a bargain!) exclusive to the Birchbox shop!
I have used a few Percy & Reed sample hair products that I have liked but when I got this product I was a bit worried to try it. Even though it is not an ‘oil’ oil I find that products like this make my hair really greasy still. I will just say that a lot of hair products make my hair greasy very quickly so it may not just be this product. Overall, it really didn’t work for my hair in the end. If you have dry and thick hair I would imagine this product would be a great one for you to try.
I love this product! I have used the Hoola bronzer for years and I love the size of this sample size, which I will be saving for my next holiday, as the size of this sample is great for travelling! If you love to use a bronzer you have to try this product. It always gives me a gentle bronze glow that is more golden than orange and on my olive coloured skin it is a great product to lightly contour with. This is definitely up there as one of my favourite bronzers!
I love painting my nails and recently I have barely had the time to but when I tried this product over my usual natural nail varnish colour it gave me a lovely glossy finish that made my nails look a lot healthier and stronger, just like a professional manicure. I don’t usually use a top coat because the ones that I have tried in the past have never really done the trick but I really liked the results I saw with the product. The Seche Vite top coat will be my go to for my nails this festive season.
I’m really excited to see what is in next month’s box and what little treats I will have to play with for over the festive season.
