Chanel | Le Blanc De Chanel Illuminating Base

This November on beautybakingbella.com I will be sharing some of my favourite make-up and skincare products. To start the month I am talking about the beautiful Chanel Multi-Use Illuminating Base, a face primer which I am currently loving!

I don’t usually wear a lot of foundation but when I do I like to use a primer as a base to keep my skin smooth and matte. This Chanel primer does exactly that, it helps my foundation sit on my skin nice and smooth as well as keeping it matte throughout the day with the amazing power of witch hazel and natural minerals that give a soft and flawless finish.

WHAT DOES IT DO

The light weight texture of this foundation base allows a smooth and light coverage perfect for any foundation to be applied after.

I love using this primer to cover and conceal any redness or any darkness I usually have around my nose and chin area, neutralising the skin tone at the base of my makeup concealing the uneven tones of my skin.

As I have an oily/combination skin type I find some primers are too thick and clogging but the Le Blanc De Chanel Illuminating Base is so light-weight but still gives my skin a glow with a light reflecting and radiant finish.

HOW I USE IT

I use this product in many different ways. If I am applying an everyday makeup look with minimal makeup or even a BB cream I will use a flat foundation brush to apply half a pump of product onto my ‘problem areas’ (nose, mouth and chin) before applying the next layer of makeup.

If I am rushed for time, I will on the back of my hand use half a pump of foundation to half a pump of primer and using a cotton bud I will mix the two together, then apply using a foundation brush or a cosmetic sponge to blend into my skin.

For a full coverage and long lasting makeup look I will use a full pump and pat it on to my skin using my fingers to press the product directly onto the skin covering the whole of my face and neck. Then continue on by applying a full face of makeup.

WHY I LOVE IT

The results I see using this product are amazing! I love how long my makeup lasts and how smooth and glowing my skin looks, even at the end of a long day! I have used this product for around 5 years and this is only my second bottle as it really does last such a long time as you only need a small amount each use, making the price of £35 for a 30ml bottle great value for money or if you need another reason to purchase this product then this is a great investment in your makeup collection.
