I love exfoliating, it makes my skin feel so clean and smooth and recently I have really been loving coffee scrubs. In the past I have tried a few different brands and even made home made scrubs. I have a recipe for one here.
When I received the Scrub Love Original Lovin’ in one of my monthly Birchbox’s I put it in my ‘To Try’ drawer. Yes, this is a real thing! I have so many beauty products I don’t know what to do with them all, so I organised them into different categories/drawers. I have a ‘Spares/Replacement’ drawer, a ‘Holiday drawer’ and a ‘New Makeup’ drawer  and my ‘To Try’ drawer. So last month it was time to take out and try a new body scrub, so I chose this one and I’m so glad I did!
A cup of coffee is a great caffeine hit after those late nights and early mornings or for me a late morning pick-me-up, but coffee also has some great benefits for the skin. We usually hear that caffeine is great in eye creams/gels as it helps to reduce darkness and puffiness around our eyes. It does this because it helps the blood flow away from the eyes reviving and relieving the area of these concerns.
Caffeine works on other parts of the body in the same way. When using coffee granules as an exfoliator, with your hands, using circular motions the caffeine helps to increase the blood flow to the surface of the skin which helps to reduce signs of uneven skin and body issues like cellulite.
Personally, I enjoy using a coffee scrub to help renew my skin as I have acne scars across some areas of my body and I am prone to in-grown hairs when I shave my legs, which unfortunately always seem to leave behind scarring/uneven skin tone. For me regular exfoliation helps my skin heal and helps to fade the scars.
Firstly, I love the packaging! It is simple yet so elegant and the outer packaging is water-proof so you haven’t got to worry about the packet getting wet. Other coffee scrubs I have used were paper packaging, and when wet the product inside didn’t last for another use. The re-sealable packet is a great idea and I was able to get a good few uses from this one packet. I love that all the information you need about the product and what it does is listed on the front and a full description of the ingredients listed on the back, so you know what you are using on your body as well as the benefits of the ingredients used.
What really drew me to this product and the main reason I wanted to use it, is because the content is all 100% natural ingredients, I try to use as many natural products within my skin care and body care because of how sensitive my skin is and because of my acne scars. The smell, texture and results are brilliant and everything you would want from a coffee body scrub. The coffee smell is just right and with the added Sweet Orange Oil it gives the most delectable scent, almost like a Terry’s chocolate Orange (hmmm my favourite!) Other ingredients include:
These amazing ingredients are all you need for energised, smooth and happy skin.
The reason I wanted to write and share a review of this product is because I loved everything about the experience I had using this scrub. I loved that my skin looked so smooth and radiant it didn’t leave any irritation on my skin. It was gentle and very enjoyable to use.
I will definitely be purchasing another one (or lots) of these Scrub Love packets as they do a variety of different scrubs for all your body concerns.
Have you tried Scrub Love before? What did you think?
