My Vitamin Supplements

It’s so easy to forget that beauty comes from within. We can spend a fortune on beauty products, beauty treatments and expect to have the perfect skin. Now firstly, the perfect skin doesn’t exist, healthy skin should be what we strive for. Healthy skin means, hydrated skin and naturally glowing skin. Now, I’m not saying you don’t need any beauty products because, coming from a beauty junkie, I know a good skincare routine is essentials for the care of my skin. But beauty from within is vital to achieve healthier looking and feeling skin.

Just like when you are shopping for your skincare products and looking at the ingredients to see what you want for your skin; your diet should be the same. Look at your skin concerns and do a quick google search to see what fruit and vegetables help with maintaining healthy skin. It is important to remember to look after your whole body and your health but sometimes it can be difficult to find the right balance, which is when we can further our research to find the right supplements to take on a daily basis to support our diet and skincare routine.

My Vitamins Review

I take supplements and have done for many years. I always make sure to re-evaluate them every few months to make sure they are effective and benefiting my health, body and mind.

When My Vitamins* reached out to send me some of their vitamins and supplements, I was over the moon! As a fan of their mother brand My Protein (I have used their Whey Protein for years) and in the past used some of their supplements. Now that I am more conscious of my skin and the changes it has gone through over the past year due to stress and anxiety; I was so excited to try supplements that would benefit my skin as I already take vitamins for my mental health and female health.

RETINOL

Let’s talk more about retinol. Retinol has been a skincare ingredient that has been made very popular throughout the beauty industry over the past couple of years. If you don’t know what retinol is, it is Vitamin A. Vitamin A is an essential fat-soluble vitamin that naturally helps cell renewal for healthy skin as well as maintaining good vision and a good immune system. Vitamin A is not only good for your skin but your whole body. It can be found naturally in foods like meats, fish, dairy products or plant foods like squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, bell peppers and broccoli.

Sometimes our body needs a little help and a supplement can help top up the levels of Vitamin A in our diet. These supplements come in a bottle of 30 small soft gels, making them easy to swallow. One tablet a day provides 2400µg of Vitamin A and it’s important to note that Vitamin A should not be taken if you are pregnant – talk to your doctor or midwife if you think you are pregnant and to ask more about using Vitamin A.

I’ve been taking these supplements for a couple of weeks as a part of my healthy lifestyle of eating healthy and a good skincare routine and found that my skin is feeling and looking good. I’ve had less blemishes and spots and my skin looks naturally healthier and I feel happy with the way it looks and feels. It will be interesting to see how my skin reacts when they finish to determine whether or not I need to continue regular supplements of Vitamin A. So far, I’m really pleased with these and I have had not issue with them at all.

BIOTIN

Biotin is apart of the B complex vitamins, which aid the body to convert food into energy. Why is this good for beauty you ask? Biotin helps to maintain hair, skin and nail health. It helps to strengthen your nails especially if they are brittle and soft. It helps with natural hair growth and can benefit those who have skin conditions that are triggered with biotin deficiency, like dermatitis. Using biotin supplements to top up your intake for the day can help if you struggle with unhealthy nails and hair.  Some great plant-based food that are high in biotin are sunflower seeds, sweet potato, almonds, spinach and broccoli. This bottle includes 90 tablets, one tablet a day is 3 months’ worth. So far, I’ve had no issues with taking them and I find them easy to swallow. I’ve noticed after a few weeks that my nails have become a lot stronger and less brittle. I wash my hands a lot and clean my house too much so may nails take a beating but recently they have been so much healthier and strong, so I’m really pleased with these just because my nail health has improved.

HAIR, SKIN & NAILS GUMMIES

These blueberry gummies are so delicious and with 60 gummies in one bottle, 2 a day, it is a months’ worth to try. These gummies are full of all the essential vitamins needed to ensure a great daily balance for healthier and strong hair, skin and nails. These gummies include;

I personally like gummies as they are easier to consume than vitamins tablets. So, if you struggle with swallowing tablets, these are a great alternative and great if you are new to taking supplements.

I’ve loved taking these and find them easier to remember to take than the previous two vitamins. I think you could choose one or the other but these gummies are a great way to take vitamins without the worry of taking all the above vitamins separately. I would 100% recommended these.

COLLAGEN POWDER

As I mentioned above, I have been using My Protein Whey Protein Powder for years, so I wanted to try the Collagen powder as a convenient way to incorporate collagen into my diet and food. This collagen powder is Lemon and Lime flavour so a great refreshing flavour to add to your water bottle, or even your orange juice. The powder is so easy to dissolve you could also include it in your baking when baking a cake or biscuits or even your energy balls. The flavour makes this powder very easy to use.

Collagen is an essential protein in our body, and for beauty it is essential in our skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as promoting healthy hair and nails. This protein is essential for our body in more ways than one, helping with cellulite and stretch marks and is great to help repair the skin from spots, cuts and infections. Foods that are high in collagen-rich protein include tomatoes, bell peppers, dark leafy greens, berries and citrus fruits. Vitamin C is essential for collagen produced by body to ensure smooth, healthy and radiant looking skin.

BEAUTY & BIO BITES

Sometimes when it comes to eating, we can be so tempted to indulge in the refined sugars and non-essential fats, so why not keep a few readymade healthy snacks in the kitchen cupboard?

The Bio Bites are a delicious cocoa and orange flavour balls enriched with 1 billion live cultures, which contributes to healthy gut health and normal digestion. These are high in fibre, have 5.6g of protein which is great for energy and also natural sugars to replace any refined rubbish that doesn’t benefit your body.

The Beauty Bites are a salted caramel almond flavour and taste just as delicious! Also high in fibre and with 6.4g of protein, these tasty treats are enriched with added collagen, hyaluronic acid and retinol, basically all the good stuff your hair and skin needs.

Each packet contains 6 small, yet filling, vitamin balls and come individually packed in a box of 12, so you can always have an abundant amount ready for when you need a sweet pick me up or after a workout to keep you going until your next meal of the day. I love to make my own but sometimes it’s nice to have ready made ones in the cupboard when I need them. I will definitely be purchasing these when they run out.
