If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you will know Bali Body is one of my favourite beauty brands. I adore their self-tan range and always take a bottle or two of their beautifully scented sun-tan oils away with me on holiday. So, it’s no surprise that when the team at Bali Body asked me to try and review their brand-new skincare line, I was giddy with excitement to see which new Bali Body product I was going to fall in love with next.
When the glorious package of newness arrived at my door, I was dying to open it, just to see what the packaging looked like. Simple and elegant; the new BB Skin Bali Body skincare line is a deep shade of maroon, the packaging is aesthetic yet informative with a small description of the product name and the active ingredients. All the products in the BB Skin range come in a bottle with a pump top covered with a lid for a fluid aesthetic perfect for any vanity, except the face mask which comes in a lovely tub. This whole range looks very luxurious and for me this was a very good first impression.
Now, it’s not all about how the product looks, the ingredient lists were intriguing, and I was eager to try all the products. The BB Skin skincare range is all vegan friendly and not tested on animals. All the packaging is recyclable and made from 100% recycled, biodegradable board.
Now let’s dive straight into the products and how I found them after using them for 2 weeks.
Let’s start off with the BB Skin Hydrating Shield, an enriched cream-based serum formulated with the active ingredients Niacinamide, Pro-vitamin b5, Peptides and Zinc Dioxide. This lightweight and fast absorbing product is perfect for your morning routine, to help protect and repair the skin. The combination of peptides and zinc dioxide supports the skin’s natural UV defence, as well as helping to keep skin hydrated and prevent premature ageing. Suitable for daily use on all skin types, as well as for use on the face, neck and decolletage. I used this every morning for 2 weeks and as someone with an oilier and combination skin, I found this serum-cream very absorbing and didn’t cause any excess oil and my makeup stayed in place all day. Even though this product has an element of sun protection, I did use my usual daily sunscreen on top.
A multi-tasking face cream, the Pro-Collagen Cream has been created with a combination of peptides and Vitamin A, which has been designed to hydrate and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additional ingredients of Vitamin C, plant-based collagen and Bakuchiol, a natural and gentle alternative to Retinol, not only nourishes the skin but gives it a smooth and natural radiant glow. For an even more gentle approach to using Vitamin A, a serum can be applied first. I used this cream as a night cream, and alternated it every couple of days with a hydrating moisturiser, not to disturb my skin barrier to much with Vitamin A. In the morning my skin would look radiant and youthful. My skin felt soft and smooth and there was none of the downtime you would normally need with a retinol product, making this a great product for anyone new to retinol/Vitamin A/ Bakuchiol.
I’m obsessed with serums and this one did not disappoint. Formulated with an innovative ingredient of Kakadu Plum and Niacinamide, the BB Skin Vitamin D Serum is both hydrating and renewing as well as protecting the skin’s DNA from a range of environmental factors. It is so lightweight and absorbs instantly, leaving the skin nourished and soft. This serum is gentle enough to be used daily and in your AM routine because of the extra protection. Once applied, wait a few minutes for the product to activate in the skin before continuing with your next product.
I don’t know about you, but I like an eye serum to do everything for me and that is exactly what the BB Skin Brightening Eye Serum does! It focuses on reducing puffiness, dark circles and the appearance of fine lines. With Chamomile and Cucumber, this hydrating and gentle eye serum is formulated with peptides to really elevate the eye area, giving you that lifted and awake look. I really enjoyed using this, as I found my eye area looked more awake and brighter with the added bonus of my under-eye concealer not separating or sliding off. This is definitely a keeper in my daily skincare routine as I could really see a difference.
If Bali Body know one thing, it’s how to create a product that really nourishes and treats the skin. This mask is that labour of love! The BB Skin Vitamin Hydration Mask is packed with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E as well as repairing Niacinamide, I mean the gang’s all here! I noticed instantly that my skin looked hydrated because it was glowing. With regular use, this face mask improves skin tone and texture, almost like a facial in a jar. If like me, you don’t have time for a regular facial then you need this mask in your skincare collection. You can use it as a treatment 1-2 times a week, as an overnight mask or used sparingly as a makeup primer for that extra punch of glowiness. The Face Mask Applicator is a silicone tipped brush that helps to get out the amount of product you need and to help apply the product evenly over the skin, without the need to use your fingers and waste the product.
Well, if you made it this far then you know that I am obsessed with the new BB Skin skincare range from Bali Body. I had high expectations, but they really did deliver on everything. The beautifully designed packaging that was both aesthetically pleasing on my vanity and easy to use. The thought and time taken to develop these products and the way they have been formulated proves that these were definitely created with love and care.
I will be keeping all these products in my daily/weekly skincare routine! I can’t wait to see what other people think about Bali Body’s BB Skin skincare range. Will you be trying any of these products?
