This month Birchbox teamed up with British Fashion Designer Matthew Williamson, to create this box design with beautiful red roses and exotic animals. This exquisite print has been inspired by Matthew Williamson’s Treasure Garden, which adds a touch of luxury and elegance to the final Birchbox of the year.
I wouldn’t call myself a fashionista, but my sister definitely is and Matthew Williamson is a designer that we grew up loving, my sister was even lucky enough to meet him at a fashion event she attended. When I saw the preview for this month’s box I was excited to receive mine and it was definitely worth the wait!
This month’s theme is Life’s Little Treasures and I think this is so fitting for the month of December as this month is full of festive fun, happiness and laughter. All the things we treasure the most, time with our family and time for ourselves.
With Christmas only a few days away, this month box includes the perfect beauty treats to get me through this month’s festivities and celebrations. One thing that I have tried to do is spend more time on myself and for myself, this includes pampering nights using a range of different beauty products. Amongst them are the goodies I received in this months box and did I mention that I received 4 FULL SIZED products this month! What more could you want from a beauty subscription box?!
The countouring craze is still amongst the beauty trends of this seasons makeup looks and this full size contouring sponge has been great beauty tool to help chisel the cheeks and jaw bones, creating an easy and blendable contour look. I used cream contour colours as I found them easier to blend with an applicator sponge and personally I found a contour brush is better for a powder contour looks. I do have an oilier skin so using a sponge and powder doesn’t blend in as well on my face. Overall, this product was a great tool to create a natural contour look and fits perfectly into my makeup collection.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a video I uploaded to my instastories a couple of weeks ago of me trying this eye mask. The FACE D Instant Depuffing Eye Mask is designed to help diminish dark circles and puffy eyes using an innovative hydrogel, with the ingredients of green tea, aloe and hydroluronic acid, after just 15 minutes of using this eye mask I noticed my eye area was smooth, cooled and decongested. The best thing about this product was how easy it was to use. The packet includes two sheets, one for each eye. Once applied beneath the eyes, leave for 15 minutes and peel off gently pressing in the residue of product like you would apply your eye cream, no need to wash it off! I really enjoyed using this product and it is a great excuse to take 15 minutes to have a rest and enjoy some relaxation time. This product is great if you need a little self care.
This is my third Spectrum makeup brush that I have received with a Birchbox over the past 18 months. This brush is the B04 Angled Blender Brush which has come in handy to create those colourful festive eye looks. I love using this brush as it fits perfectly around the contours of my eye lids and because it is a synthetic brush it can be used with powder and cream eyeshadows. I loved trying both with this brush and have been very impressed with how well it allows you to blend two or more colours to create a flawless and seamless finish. I actually have my eye on a few of the other Spectrum brushes in the collection that are on my wish list for the New Year.
I will admit that I have never bought or used a PIXI product before. I think the packaging is so fresh and feminine and have read so many lovely reviews on their products, but I have never got round to trying any of them. For my first try of a PIXI product I have to say I am impressed. This lip product has been a god-send this cold month as my lips have become so dry with the constant temperature change of cold weather and the indoor heating. Shea Butter is a perfect ingredient for the soothing benefits in a lip product and not only does the lip balm provide comfort and softness to my lips but also a gorgeous colour. Natural Rose is the perfect colour to compliment my natural lip colour and I have been wearing it with no makeup on as it doesn’t look silly because it is such a natural looking shade. Since using this product I have been eyeing up a few other PIXI beauty products that I wasn’t to try in the New Year.
This is no lie, but I recently visited my local Rituals shop and was blown away by The Ritual of Ayurveda range. The smells are so intoxicating, with soothing sweet Almond oil and Indian Rose. It was love at first sight and is another product on my wish list (I’m also hoping the gift set I saw will be a christmas present from Father Christmas!) As you can probably tell I was very excited to use this product and I wasn’t disappointed! This shower gel becomes a luxurious rich foam that leaves my skin feeling awakened and smellling so good! I would highly recommend this shower gel and I can’t wait to try more from this range.
I feel like I have been spoilt by Birchbox this month with all these fantastic products and now I can’t wait to see what I get in January’s box!
Have you used any of these products? What did you love in your Birchbox this month?
