Day Out In London | New Year’s Day

New Year’s Day was my daughter Melis’ 4th birthday so we decided to go into Central London for the day. So we got to the train station and boarded the train and as you can imagine Melis was very excited about our train ride to London.

We left the station just after 11am and got into London Victoria just before 12pm (engineer works delayed our arrival time) we then got a black cab to the Rainforest Cafe near Piccadilly where we had booked to have lunch.

This was also my first time eating at the Rainforest Cafe, I felt like a child, it was an amazing atmosphere and both kids loved looking around at the decor of the restaurant. There was mechanical animals and the whole place was covered in Rainforest trees and during our visit there were intervals of storm nosies which was fantastic. Overall the food and service was brilliant and the whole experience will be one that we will always remember. After we visited the shop where the children selected a soft toy to keep as their memorabilia from their first visit to the Rainforest Cafe.

Unfortunately, due to the rain we didn’t walk around much but we did take a visit to the world famous Hamley’s Toy Shop and yes this was also my first time too. We had a lovely time looking around and browsing all the amazing brands of toys, it is a child’s heaven!

So it may have rained all day and we all got very wet, but we all had a great time together as a family. Enjoying a day out can be quite difficult in between work and seeing family so it was nice to do something different with our babies.
