Wonderland Makeup

I love adding new makeup and new brands to my ever growing makeup collection! I was recently sent a few products from the brand Wonderland to try and review. This was the first time I had tried or even heard of this brand, so I was very excited to try out some new bits.

I was sent three products, a mascara, primer and an eyeshadow. These are all makeup items I would normally use on a makeup look for both a natural day look as well as a full evening look, so I was pleased when I opened up the package to find such relatable products to try.

First let me introduce the Wonderland Lash Thickening Mascara in the shade Black. The white and black packaging is so clean and current, which compared to my other mascaras really stands out because of the white outer casing. The mascara wand is a long and medium thick brush that is very easy to use and apply onto the lashes, enabling an easy lift right from the root of the lash to create length and curl on the lashes. As I naturally have fine lashes, I applied a second coat after waiting a few minutes after the first coat, which is when I was able to create a thicker looking lash without any clumps or stickiness. This mascara is great to wear on its own or under false lashes because it doesn’t dry hard and crusty, leaving your lashes soft and beautiful. One of the main pros of using this product was how I was able to remove it. Lets face it, a mascara that is hard to remove and irritates the eye area is not a winner for me, however this mascara was very easy to remove with both my Garner Micellar Water and my Clarins Eye Make Up remover. Overall, this product has become my go to mascara at the moment!

When it comes to eyeshadows, I will admit, I always reach for my makeup palettes, because most of the time, I decide on impulse what colours I will mix and blend (usually a soft and natural burnt orange and brown)! When it comes to using bolder colours, I have always loved creating dramatic and colourful looks on clients but never really on myself. The Wonderland Wonderdust Loose Pigment enabled me to sit down and create a gorgeous look using this beautiful matte mauve pink shade called Chalked.  Considering this product is a loose powder, it was surprising easy to use and not as messy as other loose powders I have used. Using this product I used an eyeshadow primer beforehand then continued by pressing the powder on to my eyelid (tip: remember to tap off the excess on the brush before pressing on to prevent too much fall out!) I slowly built up the colour to the depth I wanted and then went in with a clean blending brush to soften the outer crease line to make it more natural. Overall, I loved this product and how long lasting the eyeshadow is. It was easy to blend and apply as well avery easy to remove at the end of the day.

The third and final product I tried was the Wonderland Studio Finish Primer. This oil-free primer looks so elegant and when applying made my skin feel soft and smooth. I always start off by using a pea-sized amount and applying onto my face with my finger tips from the centre of my face outwards. I do this because the centre of my face is where I need the primer to work for me, around my nose, chin and the centre of my forehead. This lightweight formula worked well on my oily/combination skin and after applying a medium coverage foundation, I noticed my skin looked more radiant and a lot smoother than if I hadn’t applied a primer before hand. As the day went on my skin stayed radiant and I barely noticed any oily shine down the centre of my face. I liked using this product and I will definitely keep using it underneath my foundation as my go-to primer.

I really enjoyed playing around with this Wonderland products and I will definitely be trying more from this newly discovered brand!

Have you tried Wonderland Makeup before? What are your go to products at the moment?
