I honestly couldn’t live without hand and foot cream. I religiously use hand cream daily as my hands are always so dry from washing my hands so much. Even if I am using a gentle hand wash I always need something on my hands after to rehydrate them and keep them soft to avoid irritation.
Thankfully my hands are not as bad in the summer months as the weather isn’t cold but I find some comfort in applying hand and foot cream before bedtime every evening to wake up with soft and healthy looking hands and feet.
A little while back Flexitol kindly sent me some of their products for feet, hands and nails, so I put them to the test over the past 4 weeks. So if like me you suffer from dry hands and feet, continue reading to see how I got on and what I thought of these hand and foot care products.
I have also included in this post some tips to keep your hand and feet manicure and pedicure ready at home without needing to spend lots of time and money at the nail salon.
Let’s start off with the Flexitol Cuticle & Nail Cream. It is so easy to forget about caring for your cuticles and nails and if neglected it can cause them to become dry and fragile, sometimes just hand cream alone isn’t enough. This cream comes in an easy to use tube with a brush applicator on the tip so you can easily brush the cream over your nails and cuticles. Using this cream often promotes healthy nail growth as well as protecting and repairing the nail area.
Over the last few weeks I have noticed a huge improvement in the condition of my nails and have found my nail colours/varnish look better and last longer. With the main ingredients Lanolin and Urea this formula will keep your nails soft and healthy.
TIP: If like me you like to give yourself a manicure at home this product is great to use to prepare the nail area. After filing your nails into the shape you like, apply Flexitol Cuticle and Nail cream and using your thumb and forefinger gently massage the cream into the nails, around the outside and cuticles. Rinse off with some warm water and continue with your nail colour.

This is the product I was most excited to use, again because of my love of using hand creams. The Flexitol Hand Balm has been medically proven to reduce and alleviate skin concerns like eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. With ingredients including Urea, Lanolin, Shea Butter and Emollient, the skin on your hands become more hydrated and moisturised, improving the appearance of dry, cracked and irritated skin. You can use these product 2-3 times a day to ensure your hands stay soft and healthy looking.
Using this product has kept my hands soft and clear of redness and itchy irritation that I am prone to from washing my hands too often on those days when I’m cooking, baking or generally sorting the kids out. The texture isn’t too thick and is non-sticky making it perfect for on the go as well as bedtime.
TIP: When I was a skincare specialist one piece of advice I would give to my clients about using hand cream was to apply it before going to sleep. Leave the bottle by your bedside and as you get into bed pop some on so while you are sleeping and you body is naturally repairing and soothing itself, the hand cream can get to work. This will ensure that when you wake in the morning you can start the day with soft and hydrated hands.

One thing I love about the summer months is that I can get my feet out and into some pretty sandals or flip flops. If I could pick one part of my body that I love, I would have to pick my feet! I love applying foot cream after a shower or bath, when my skin is soft, or before bed as I find that using a cream after washing I am more likely to remember to do it. The Flexitol Moisturising Foot Cream is enriched with Vitamin E with Urea to add hydration back into our hard working feet. The rich formula and texture helps to soften any dry or hard skin around the foot and lower legs and prevent them from cracking and becoming irritated.
TIP: The best time to apply foot cream is at bedtime or in the evening. Apply the cream and put on some cotton socks, even if you only leave them on for 10 minutes while you are watching TV or reading a book or if you don’t mind sleeping with them on, leave them until the morning. The warmth in your socks will work with the cream to soften and moisturise the bottom of your feet, especially your heels.

After using the Flexitol hand and foot products, even after the first application, I loved how the creams felt on my skin. My nails are stronger and growing much healthier than before. My hands feel soft and haven’t had any irritation or redness and no more stinging pain when washing my hands because of sore skin. My feet are softer than ever and I have loved including these product into my body care routine and as a part of my self-care regime when I take the time to pamper myself and have a relaxing evening to calm and soothe my self after busy day running around being mummy.
I would highly recommend these products to anyone who suffers from dry and irritated hands and feet and are looking for more than just a perfumed hand cream. I have tried and tested this range and I can confirm it does exactly want it says on the tin!
You can buy the Flexitol range at Boots where they have more products for specific hand and foot care needs.
