Lockdown may have come to an end but my love for cosy and comfy clothes is still thriving. As a mum of two with a busy lifestyle, whether I’m home-schooling, cooking, cleaning or just messing around with my kids, I like to be comfortable in what I wear. The most important thing I’ve learnt about my wardrobe choices during lockdown is that I am not just mum, but a woman who doesn’t need to always dress down but can also wear nice and affordable clothing. This is where Femme Luxe Collection comes into play. I love their toned down yet stylish casual clothing range. From comfy yet perfect fitted joggers, to cute slogan tee t-shirts and the nicest co-ord loungewear. I’m obsessed!
I may not be a ‘fashion blogger’ but I am a person that appreciates clothes and takes a lot of pride in my wardrobe, so I treat myself to now and then. I appreciate clothes and how they make me feel; an outfit can boost my mood or my confidence. I have completely revamped my wardrobe to include an aesthetic of neutrals, comfiest clothes and stylish choices for any day of the week. Who knew you could dress up casual wear with a pair of boots or a blazer and some jewellery. As I was sitting down to write this post, I began to think about the things I appreciate and what I am grateful for. This led me to think about how much I have grown and changed since the beginning of lockdown.
The biggest global pandemic of our time forced us into our homes and into a space that some of us just exist in and don’t really appreciate. Even as a stay home mum, I would just go through the motions of everyday life until lockdown started. During lockdown, I discovered a deep found confidence in myself and my gratitude for life and my home changed. I deep cleaned, decluttered and reorganised my house about 3 times in lockdown. I even started a home account on Instagram @mindfulhomeliving. From clothes, shoes, books, kid’s toys etc I went totally crazy making my home work for me and my family. I should have bought some shares in Amazon years ago because I must have spent a small fortune on the app just buying storage solutions and other bits and bobs for my home and for myself.
Now coming out of the other side of lockdown and being able to sit an reflect over this time has given me the chance to write down 5 things I have learnt about myself and am thankful for.
From being mindful of my clothing to my home, finding the time to be in the now and enjoy life is something I’m grateful thanks to 2020.
What have you learnt about yourself in lockdown and what are you thankful for?
